Literature Text

Different princes,
on their horses,
have made their appearances in so many fairy tales...

One freed the princess from an ogre,
the other from a monster,
one from a curse,
while the other from a spell...

One woke an enchanted princess up from an eternal sleep,
while the other from food poisoning...

One climbed up a tower to the rescue,
while the other wandered around with a glass slipper...

One kidnapped her, rescued her from the prince charming,
and taught her that external beauty is nothing but a lie...

One took her out of the streets, taught her how to talk,
dressed her up, taught her some manners,
and fell in love with her...

One took her out of a bordelle,
dressed her up, then after breaking her heart,
showed up at her place in a white limo and an umbrella...

One kissed her in the middle of a football field in front of millions and national tv...
while the other wrote and sang a romantic song for her on a plane trying to win her back...

All those princes charming, and so many more, have made an effort...
and after they did the effort, in each story, the princesses reacted...

One kissed him back when he undid the spell or the curse...
One let down her hair for the prince to climb up the tower,
One accepted to try the glass slipper...
One decided to remain in her ogre shape to be with him...
One changed herself inside out for him...
One came down half the stairs to meet her acrophobic prince...
One waited in the middle of a football field for her prince...
while the other rushed to him to kiss him after hearing the song he sang for her...

and with the prince's action, and the princess' reaction...
they got their happily ever after...
or the closest they could get to that...

I've heard someone say that for every action, there's a reaction...
But it seems the action needs to be done to someone or something that reacts...
not to a statue... not to a ghost... not to an illusion... or a mirage...
not to a legend, a myth or simply a lie...

I've done the action,
and got no reaction...
yet i knew...
and still know...
that, though I'm not a prince...
and I'm surely not charming...
yet I still deserve my ever after...

That's why they call this reality, not a fairytale. I suppose we don't get a major happily ever after, because then life would be too simple. We get little ones, in joys, smiles and laughs, but it seems that the one we yearn for is the one that we seem to put the most effort it. Knowing that an action gets a reaction, but what about if there was something in the way? That something is Nature's favourite game called "Up yours"
Very good main purpose in this poem
